New Years Day Flying
« on: January 01, 2010, 06:28:45 PM »
The rain held off but the wind sure didn't.  9 members showed up today, 4 of us flew and the rest provided encouragement.  We had a pretty good day until towards the end of the flying session, someone mentioned "There hasn't been any crashes today".  It couldn't have been 2 or 3 minutes and Mikes plane quit listening to him and the transmitter.  Everyone make a New Years resolution not to say those words in 2010.  I got the first flight of the day in, Mike was next, then Rich flew his Cub and Rob flew his Tiger.  Everyone got in several flights before it really started raining.  With the wind blowing 10 to 15 mph, we got some great radar reading on the down wind passes.  Rob's Tiger recorded 112 mph and Mike's Sportster hit 104 mph.

Nice Pictures!  on our way to the field I kept telling Monte that no one would be there.  I was wrong.

Can't wait for next year and the Piercy Puddle Fest. next time I'll bring something to fly.

My Toyota pickup performed flawlessly on the recovery of mikes plane, so that was a good thing. ;D

Happy new Year All!

yeh i agree with you kieth your truck did a nice recovery thanks to rob jinksing the day just kidding rob anyway for those who dont know what happened i was flying the sportster doing high speed passes and allen clocked it at 104 mph did a hard turn to the right and banked back to the left the only thing i can come up with was a serious up draft over the trees and down she went only 6 feet from the airport runway anyway its fixable it might be ready for spring
